COVID-19 RESIDENCY

I realize now that I completed a year long artist’s residency at long term care! 
A year ago, my part time job turned full time, due to Covid-19.  For fifteen years I  worked in the Studios of a long term care facility where I shared my artistic knowledge and deepening empathy, with my elderly students at end of life. 
March 2020 I moved from an open studio to a locked down unit of 40 residents.  Wearing mask, shield and full PPE I have been accepted and trained by nursing staff to help in various capacities.   When time permitted, between the day to day necessities of life, I engage the residents in clay art projects such as the Covid Flower Series.
